Our Mission Collective ageing of our populations is one of the greatest achievements of our society. However, the benefits and needs arising out of this welcome development are as yet poorly understood by many, and this may explain an ambivalence about later life in the public domain. A close link between science and the humanities represents the best way to forge a deeper understanding of the biological, social and psychological aspects of ageing. Aois agus Eolas - the Centre for Ageing, Neuroscience and the Humanities - is dedicated to promoting a wider understanding of ageing in Ireland, especially among healthcare workers. The activities in the centre have included collaborations with the National Gallery of Ireland, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, RTE Lyric FM, the School of Religions and Theology (TCD), the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (Dun Laoire), the Trinity College Institute of Neurosciences, and the Centre for Bioengineering (TCD). We welcome the input of older people into this process, and encourage feedback on all of our programmes |
